THE CLIENT BRIEF

Charmaine and Michael live in large 3-story home with their son David, close to High Park. An extremely sought after area featuring older homes with lots of character.

C&M have done a few major improvements around the home to take care of concerns including the re-wiring and window replacements.

Michael is a Psychology professor, while Charmaine was recently promoted to Dean of UFT. With the promotion comes the responsibility of hosting of an annual Fall Event for the universities facility.

This exciting news is what has promoted C&M to finally start renovating and decorating their home to create more function and beauty.

Since the Fall Event will be mid-September, we have opted to focus on crucial yet cosmetic details that will really impact the space but can reasonably be done before then.

To start, the main floor furniture, flooring, wainscotting, entry closet and paint will be the focus. These details will rejuvenate the space without causing work to be double down once we move in Round 2.

Round 2 will start after the Fall Event, and also after the delivery and review of a more in-depth Budget Stress Test. This test will help C&M determine which areas of the home are priorities vs. which they may like to wait on.

Special attention will be paid to sentimental items around the home, including Charmaine's childhood piano, and artwork they have curated together over the years.

There will also be some repair work done to existing areas like the staircase, which are worn, or the ceilings where the plaster is peeling.

THE TESTIMONIAL

Scott and Shelby transformed our neglected first floor area into a gorgeous space that we have been thrilled to share with our friends, family, and colleagues. They created a design that was chic and still very much us and appropriate for our family.

This was not an easy project, as we were working toward a date when the space would need to be ready and perfect. Scott and Shelby pulled it off and navigated the challenges along the way. We are really enjoying the space!
