Well, it's week 3 of the One Room Challenge and this week I'm showcase the Concept Board I created for the look.
Basically, this is the part of the project where I have sourced items and added them to our internal client portal, built out the look and am ready to present it to the client!
When I work with clients, I always have a personalized Pinterest board going on in the back end. This way, if the client doesn't love an item in their proposal, I already have back-ups loaded. BUT, I don't give clients access to the Pinterest board anymore as I found that it tends to overload them with options, but to give you an idea of what's happening on the backend you can:
As you can see, I keep the Pinterest board pretty organized, each category is broken down into a sub-board:
Art
Bedding
Headboard
Rug
Nightstands
Wardrobes
You'll see that in some categories, it looks like an item has been pinned twice, and it has. The truth is, many vendors offer the same items at different prices. If I come across the same item between vendors, I pin them both. The final decision on which one to order is determined by a couple factors:
Pricing
Sales or discounts
Quality of the vendors logistics system
Delivery charges
Inventory
Ease of ordering
The other two categories that will always be found in the board are:
Once the concept board is complete, the shopping list will also be complete because I do them simultaneously. Both are presented at the same time so the client can see which parts of their budget are going to what and the estimated total cost of the look.
The shopping list includes as the information for the item that I could gather including:
Once the client has received this, it's time for them to approve or request a revision. If the look is approved we smoothly move into the purchasing stage. If not, I get their feedback, look back on the Pinterest board, revise the Concept Board & Shopping List then present again!
We will be creating our IKEA Pax hack to create additional open storage + a media are between the two wardrobes!
Sometimes, after the concept board and shopping list have been approved by the client things can change. Sometimes, something goes out of stock or some other unexpected circumstance pops up. BUT, I'll let you know if I run into any hiccups or changes next week along with some photos of the freshly painted bedroom - hopefully, yet to see if I can get my hands on some paint during this lockdown!
PLUS, we had to change the app that housed all of our blog comments...
so, unfortunately we lost them all!!!!
